Currently Reading

On the Road by Jack Kerouac: I was actually in the middle of Eat, Pray, Love when I found On the Road in the Rizk library. I picked it up to check Jack out and couldn't put it down. Kerouac's really good. His descriptions place me right there alongside Sal (the narrator) and now I can hardly wait to get back on the open road. And back to that gorgeous pair of cowboy boots I left behind in Denver.

Eat, Pray, Love by Elizabeth Gilbert: Gilbert is intelligent and witty but her book is a little slow. I'm still at the part where she is in Rome learning the Italian language. I hope to finish this one day. Maybe after On the Road.

EPL is painfully self absorbed, even by memoir standards. Italy was slow, India was slower, Indonesia was the only part worth reading.
